Winter Activities:
With a name like Winter Park, be assured that if it’s a snow activity, you can find it here. The downhill skiing that can be found at Winter Park Resort is diverse enough to please the beginner and expert. The snowshoeing opportunities near town are great as well. And the sledding in nearby Fraser is screamingly good. Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center and Devil's Thumb Ranch offer plenty of options for cross-country skiers and snowshoe adventures. Winter Park is also home to the national program for disabled skiers.

The Winter Park Resort, a well-known ski resort known as Colorado's Favorite is owned by the City and County of Denver and managed by Intrawest.

Winter Park Resort offers miles of downhill runs, rails for snowboarders, and plenty of terrain for skiers of all skill levels. Known for long, perfectly formed moguls, Winter Park Resort and Mary Jane offer bump-skiing at its finest. The Winter Park Ski Area also plays host to some of Colorado's best beginner and intermediate skiing and snowboarding. Unique fact:  The town and resort are served by the Ski Train of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad from Union Station.  The Light Rail will eventually run between DIA and Union Station to allow travelers to take the train to Winter Park.

Visitors to the Winter Park and Fraser Valley can enjoy miles of Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoe trails.

Winter Park and the Fraser Valley should not be missed as a summer destination. Many permanent residents came for the winter but stayed because of the beautiful summers.
